Bettane and Desseauve, two famous french wine experts, are proposing in their Tast Pro magazine – april 2007 issue a complete file about Gigondas. We are very pleased to be in top positions and to get nice comments about our wines. We let you discover below what they wrote.
Domaine Les Goubert
This beautiful and well-known domain is a key player in Gigondas AOC. Among 23ha, 10ha are dedicated to Gigondas, where they elaborated two cuvées (red of course!). Hand-made or mechanical vinifications – depending on weather. Destemmed harvest (80% in 2005). Long fermentation (around 30 days) and 10 months aging.
Côtes du Rhône Les Favoris, blanc 2004
50 % roussanne, 50 % viognier.
It is a new cuvée. Fine and breed, even if it stays a bit reticent. Long on the palate and fresh, with a nice and very mineral finish. A great white wine, so well-balanced.
16,5/20Gigondas cuvée Florence, rouge 1998
A powerful but velvety nose, very civilized, with red fruits and melted chocolate scents. Leather smells. Deep, complex and spicy (cinnamon, pepper), breed. Wonderful. Mouth is spicy, very hot, well-balanced with a strong bodied finish, as often for a Gigondas. This wine is more civilized, more feminine.
